Eagles’ DeVonta Smith shares his thoughts about your fantasy football team
If you have Philadelphia Eagles wideout DeVonta Smith on your fantasy football roster, you’ve been disappointed by his performance.
Even though Smith’s Philadelphia Eagles scored 29 points against the Houston Texans in a 12-point win on Thursday night, the “Slim Reaper” managed just two catches for 22 yards or two fantasy points.
After feeling the wrath of fantasy owners on social media, Smith responded candidly.
Despite being rostered in 99 percent of leagues, according to CBS Sports, Smith is ranked No. 34 among wideouts.
Selected by the Eagles in the first round (10th overall) in 2021, Smith made an immediate impact as a rookie, finishing with 64 receptions for 916 yards and five touchdowns, leading many to believe a sophomore breakout was on the horizon. But, for fantasy owners on the fence about benching or even dropping Smith, the 25-year-old still has time to catch fire, as his big-play abilities make him a constant threat.
Heading into the Eagles’ Week 10 matchup with the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football, Smith is still on pace to top last season’s totals, having compiled 40 catches for 442 yards and two touchdowns.
