Eagles acquire three-time Pro Bowl DE Robert Quinn from Bears
The NFL’s only remaining unbeaten team just got a little stronger.
According to multiple sources, the Philadelphia Eagles have acquired defensive end Robert Quinn from the Chicago Bears in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick.
The 32-year-old set the Bears’ single-season record for sacks with 18.5 in 2021. However, Quinn has struggled this season in Chicago, registering eight tackles, a sack and three quarterback hits over seven games.
Quinn has compiled 367 tackles and 102 sacks over 12 NFL seasons with St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys and Bears.
It’s a low-risk, high-reward move for an Eagles team with Super Bowl aspirations.
The three-time Pro Bowler will also come cheap. According to Mike Garafolo, the Bears will pick up most of Quinn’s remaining salary for 2022.
While Quinn has two years remaining on a five-year, $70 million deal, neither season is guaranteed. So, if the move doesn’t pan out like the Eagles hope, they can cut ties at the end of the season without a cap penalty.
