Eagles’ 2023 first-round draft haul could be spectacular
The Eagles are 6-0 and living large. In the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, they could be living large, too.
Before the last draft, the Eagles traded their 16th and 19th overall picks and a sixth-rounder in 2022 to the Saints for the 18th overall pick, two later-round selections, a 2023 first-rounder and 2024 second-rounder.
The prize for Philadelphia is the 2023 first-round pick. New Orleans is 2-5 and has major QB issues. The Saints could nosedive in the second half.
If the season were to end today, the Eagles would have the sixth overall pick. The selection spot could easily improve.
Per ESPN’s Football Power Index, the Eagles have a 68.7 percent chance of getting a top 10 pick, a 34 percent chance of a top five pick and a 5.1 percent chance of landing the No. 1 selection.
GM Howie Roseman, who traded for DE Robert Quinn on Wednesday, seems like a genius.
