Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown have career games against Pittsburgh

A.J. Brown had a career game on Sunday. Against the Steelers, Brown caught six passes for 156 yards and three touchdowns. He averaged 26 yards per catch with a long of 43. It was the best game of the All-Pro’s career.

As a result, Jalen Hurts also had a career game against Pittsburgh. Hurts completed 19 passes for 285 yards and threw four touchdowns for a 140.6 passer rating. None of this is coincidence. This is exactly why the Eagles gave up a first-round pick to get Brown and it was never more obvious than on Brown’s first score.

With 9:34 left in the first quarter, Hurts hit Brown for a leaping 39-yard touchdown. Brown wasn’t open, in fact, he was double covered. Last year, Hurts would never make that throw. This year, he has no problems putting the ball up for grabs and letting the 6′ 1″ All-Pro go get it.

Brown’s second touchdown was a bit easier. Hurts hit him in stride in the second quarter from 27 yards out. Brown was well covered, but it didn’t really matter.

Before the first half was over, Hurts would find Brown for yet another score, this time for 29 yards and the Eagles were on their way to their seventh win, matching their best start of the season.
