TD prop targets for NFL Week 8: Pick & choose to build your own winners

Last week’s touchdown prop article foreshadowed some big games, notably the Ravens running back group, the Bengals receivers, Ezekiel Elliott, Josh Jacobs and Kenneth Walker. We hope so, and last week’s explosion of scores makes us all the more confident that these circled spots can help you in your week’s prep in the NFL.

This week, nine positional groups offer a reason to consider them for your touchdown prop bets.


Miami Dolphins RBs vs. Detroit

Why they’re here: Detroit is tied for the second-most touchdowns allowed to running backs this year at 10 total. This is even with the Lions having their bye already. Last season, Detroit allowed the third-most touchdowns to RBs.

Volume leaders:

  • Raheem Mostert: 87 carries, 19 targets, 11 red zone (RZ) looks
  • Chase Edmonds: 38 carries, 17 targets, 10 RZ looks

New Orleans Saints TEs vs. Las Vegas

Why they’re here: The Raiders have allowed six touchdowns to tight ends, tied for the most in the league. Last season, the Raiders allowed the third-most scores to TEs with 10.

Volume leaders:

  • Juwan Johnson: 30 targets, 5 RZ looks
  • Adam Trautman: 8 targets, 2 RZ looks

Carolina Panthers WRs vs. Atlanta

Why they’re here: Atlanta has seen 11 touchdowns from opposing wide outs, the highest total in the league. Last year, the Falcons were tied for sixth-most scores to WRs.

Volume leaders:

  • DJ Moore: 54 targets, 4 RZ looks
  • Shi Smith: 20 targets, 2 RZ looks
  • Terrace Marshall: 8 targets, 1 RZ look

Philadelphia Eagles WRs vs. Pittsburgh

Why they’re here: The Steelers have allowed nine touchdowns to WRs, tied for third-most in the league.

Volume leaders:

  • AJ Brown: 53 targets, 9 RZ looks
  • DeVonta Smith: 43 targets, 4 RZ looks

Minnesota Vikings TEs vs. Arizona

Why they’re here: The Cardinals are tied for the most touchdowns allowed to the TE position at six.

Volume leaders:

  • Irv Smith: 29 targets, 5 RZ looks
  • Johnny Mundt: 13 targets, 2 RZ looks

Houston Texans WRs vs. Tennessee

Why they’re here: The Titans have allowed nine touchdowns to WRs through six games, the third-most in the league. Tennessee allowed 20 wide receiver scores last year, tied for fourth-most.

  • Nico Collins: 30 targets, 1 RZ look
  • Chris Moore: 16 targets, 2 RZ looks

Tennessee Titans RBs vs. Houston

Why they’re here: Houston has allowed nine scores to RBs, fourth-most in the NFL. Last season, the Texans were tied for the third-most touchdowns to running backs.

Volume leaders:

  • Derrick Henry: 134 carries, 17 targets, 17 RZ looks
  • Dontrell Hilliard: 6 carries, 16 targets, 4 RZ looks

New York Giants RBs vs. Seattle

Why they’re here: The Seahawks have allowed seven touchdowns to running backs, tied for sixth-most. Last year, Seattle allowed 14 touchdowns to RBs, tied for seventh-most.

Volume leaders:

  • Saquon Barkley: 143 carries, 30 targets, 22 RZ looks
  • Matt Breida: 21 carries, 6 targets, 6 RZ looks

Indianapolis Colts WRs/RBs vs. Washington

Why they’re here: Washington has allowed eight touchdowns to wide receivers, tied for sixth-most in the NFL. Last year, Washington’s 19 scores to WRs was tied for sixth-most. The Commanders have also seen eight scores from running backs, fifth-most this season.
