Robert Griffin III serious about being a minority owner of Commanders

Daniel Snyder’s time as owner of the Washington Commanders may be coming to a close sooner rather than later. In the meantime, let the jockeying begin, because being the owner of an NFL team is no small deal and potential suitors are sure to be lining up around the block.

One of those suitors is a former player, actually. Former Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III is saying that he wants to join forces with a handful of fans to buy the team right out from under Snyder’s nose.

When news broke that Snyder is considering selling the team, RGIII took to Twitter and said that he wants to try to become a minority owner of the team.

“I’m down to pay for a stake and bring 10 fans along for the ride,” he wrote.

In a follow-up tweet, Griffin clarified that the fans wouldn’t have to pay anything for their part in the share, which is honestly incredible if true.
